Here is a look at the schools who can make a title claim:
Kansas (12-1) - Let's be honest if the name on the jersey was USC, Michigan, Florida. There would be a lot more outrage. They put up huge numbers on offense this year. There only loss was a close game to highly ranked Missouri on a neutral field. I wonder if the Jayhawks wish they had another shot at Missouri especially in Lawrence.Pros:
1 loss
That loss was to Missouri
Orange Bowl Win
Loses: Missouri
West Virginia (11-2) - They looked awfully impressive in a their win over #3 Oklahoma, their offense might be the best in the country, or at the very least the most exciting. Their 3-3-5 defense might match well against others on this list. If Rich Rod was already at Michigan do they beat Pitt?
Pros:
They beat Oklahoma easily
Both losses came in games White was injured
Their Offense
Loses: South Florida, Pitt
Missouri (12-2) - Too bad we couldn't see what this team could do in a BCS game against say Georgia. They just matched up poor against OU. Their offense was stellar and defense maybe underrated.Pros:
They only lost to 1 school
They beat Arkansas easily, who defeated LSU
They scored over 35 points against everyone but OU.
Loses: Oklahoma (2)
USC (11-2) - USC would probably be slight favorites in a playoff. The Trojans when healthy are formidable. When their talent comes to play they put on a show. How did they loses to Stanford?Pros:
They would be Vegas' favorite against anyone now.
They defeated Cal, Arizona St, UCLA, and Illinois in their last 4 games.
They're the most dominate school in College Football over the last 5 years.
Loses: Stanford, Oregon
Georgia (11-2) - Georgia has been on a roll lately. They have a power running game that is as good as anyone's in the country. Their defense is tough and this football team has improved each week. Think they don't want to another crack at South Carolina.Pros:
They won their last 7 games.
Running game
Defense
Loses: South Carolina, Tennessee
LSU would of course be here too, with a win.
After all it's only college, they don't get paid, so why can't everyone win.
