As reported on Rizzosports.com
What has happen to Armstrong County Baseball? Lets be honest first Armstrong country hasn’t been a hotbed in boys high school athletics over the last 20 years. With a declining population & last time I checked we have more people living below the poverty line than with a college degree, isn’t exactly a winning formula for high school sports. Baseball has always been the sport in which Armstrong County teams have done their best, with state & WPIAL champions. This Season has been so good Leechburg (0-5) Freeport (3-5) West Shamokin (1-6) Ford City (4-3) Apollo Ridge (4-1) Kittanning (0-7), Elderton (2-4), heading into this week. Giving you 14 – 31 overall or .311 winning percentage. Is this just an off year or an early season slump…we’ll see as the spring continues.
