NCAA D1-A Football National Champion

Quick...Who won the NCAA I-A National Championship last year...hint: it wasn't Texas. The correct answer is no one. The NCAA doesn't give out a National Champion at the D1 A level.

Division I-is the only NCAA sponsored sport without an organized tournament to determine its champion.

Texas won the BCS title....wining the BCS National Championship.

Florida will meet this Ohio State this year for the BCS title Game, and depending on the outcome, schools like Boise St. & Louisville have good arguments they deserve some type of title.

Any argument for a playoff should focus around "hey don't you think it's time the NCAA have a Football Champion". Well maybe there will never be a NCAA D1-A Football Champion, but doesn't mean anyone can't claim to the champion. The University of Pittsburgh for example claims 9 titles in their media guide, well most people credit them with 5. Richard Nixon in 1969 actually claim Texas the National Champion after they defeated Arkansas.

Since everyone seems like they can determine a National Champion: RizzoSports.com is going to give a national championship to either: Ohio State, Florida, or Louisville....or maybe co-champs. Maybe Louisville can even hang a banner for it.
