MLB Realignment

There is chatter about MLB realigning. I believe it’s a good idea should have happened a while ago. The simplest move is to send Houston the AL West. This would give each league 15 teams, all with 5 teams per division. Houston would get division games against rival Texas and it seems to make sense.

Divisions – There is a lot of talk about going back to two divisions per league or removing divisions all together. I’m not against those ideas at the moment but think three divisions of 5 teams would work just fine.

Interleague – The only thing I suggest is getting rid of the home and away series against your rival. Seeing the Mets vs. Yankees only 3 times a season certainly makes those games more interesting.

Playoffs – Never allow for more than four playoff teams per league. Period.

Conclusion – With Bud Selig still calling the shots, history tells us the logical move will probably not be implemented, so that’s what should worry everyone.

Dodgers to Win World Series over Boston

Manny and Joe Torre will lead the Dodgers to a World Series Title.

We're making another prediction: LA over Boston in the World Series.

Why because Manny and Torre are winners. Manny lives for this, he is so comfortable in this situation, and Torre has more playoff exprience than another other manager. The pressure will not get to the Dodgers this postseason. You can talk about OPS all year long, but in postseason baseball, the games are not won via box score stats.

Manny for MVP, Sabathia for CY Young

Even through they both started their seasons in the AL, Manny and CC enter will enter the playoffs, as the best hitter and best pitcher in the NL. The Dodgers and Brewers would absolutely not be getting ready for playoff series with out them. There is a lack of a front-runner for either award, and no team in the playoffs has a more important player.

Manny Ramirez - Has turned Hollywood into Mannywood. He is averaging an RBI a game since joining the LA and despite having a third of the at-bats he's a couple home runs from leading the team. In the 53 games he has played with the Dodgers, his OPS is a phenomenal 1.232.

CC Sabathia - He pitched the Brewers into the playoffs, with an sensational with a complete game 4 hitter. Since arriving in Milwaukee on July 7th, CC has an 11-2 record with a 1.78 ERA. He's been major factor in turning Milwaukee into a great baseball city.

I think the Yankees will capture some type of magic in their final year at Yankee Stadium and win the World Series. - I've probably just doomed the Yankees to a 3rd place finish with this.

AL East - New York
AL Central - Cleveland
AL West - Seattle
AL Wildcard - Boston

NL East - New York
NL Central - Milwaukee
NL West - Los Angeles
NL Wildcard - Philadelphia

Pittsburgh Pirates Losing Number Now at 12 and Counting

With the MLB playoffs just around the corner, most teams are talking about their magic number. Well the Pirates don't have to worry about the playoffs with a 53-70 record. However the Pirates are just 12 more loses away from another losing season. Each loss is one more game off their magic I mean "losing number". It would take a miracle and 28-11 record over the last 39 games to not have a losing record. Let the official count down to 15 consecutive years begin. Pirates Fans for Change should plan something special.
